Trail running is an enjoyable type of running. Locally near Weaverham there are canals, rivers and the Sandstone Trail and masses of paths you can walk, run or cycle, traffic free and great for fitness, (although trail trainers are a must for runners). It is also great to travel to locations throughout the country like Snowdon, Wales, Pennines or the Lake District to find some great routes that will really challenge you. An activity that many of the members like to undertake frequently.
Like every club there are a few of us who run off road when ever we can, try it its fun.
Llandegla Wales
A great place to run in Wales by Mold a great run down through the Forest and along the trails but very tough run back up to the top although you can have a nice cold drink and some food at the end in the cafe. Top run.
A great place to run by Wilmslow and only a 40 min drive from Weaverham. This is a very peacefull run with some good tricky bits in it, a great training run.
A great place to run with unlimited paths and tracks to run down, you can run here all the time it`s challenging in places too. We try to run here at least every week if we can
The Sandstone trail runs from Whitchurch to Frodsham, where ever you join it it`s well worth it with good hills, plenty of muddy fields and plenty of gates and cows, a very hard run, if you want a good hard run, run it from Frodsham to Beeston about 17 miles, a tough route as Dave and myself found out Jan 2010.
